MATCH #1: GHC Tag Team Title Match – Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Naomichi Marufuji & Takashi Sugiura, The Second Navigation 2008, 3.2.08

This is from a Pro Wrestling NOAH show at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. Marufuji and Sugiura have been the Champions since 10.27.07, and this is their second defense. The graphic for the match calls the building the “Nippon Bubakan.” Nice job, monkeys. Jay and Marufuji start it off. They take it down to the mat and mix in some chain wrestling. Mark tags in and they continue to keep it on the mat. Sugiura tags in and I admit I don’t know anything about him. He changes up the tone of the match, using his power to try and intimidate Mark, who counters with his speed and agility. Mark sends Sugiura to the floor and wipes him out with a dive. Marufuji and Jay take up the fight in the ring and they quickly take it to the apron. Both men dropkick each other and they tumble to the floor. Mark and Sugiura get back in the ring and Mark hits a springboard back elbow for two. The momentum continues to shift as both teams try to set the pace. The champions are successful at doing so, and they isolate on Jay. After a few minutes Jay is able to connect with some offense and tag his brother. Mark tries coming in a house afire but Marufuji is there step-for-step with him. The younger Briscoe takes Marufuji down with a Finlay Roll and tries a quebrada but slips and almost lands REALLY badly on his neck. He’s pretty lucky there. The Briscoes are able to remain in control and they work Marufuji over. More

MATCH #1: Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly vs. The All Night Express, Final Battle 2010, 12.18.10

Rhett Titus and O’Reilly start the match. They go back and forth a bit and O’Reilly unleashes some early kicks to take first control. Cole tags in for some double-teaming. He keeps up the pressure and hits Titus with a leg lariat off the second rope for a one-count. King rescues his partner from further beating and the ANX tries to regroup on the floor. O’Reilly tries a dive but the ANX catches him, so Cole follows out with a second dive to wipe them out. Back in the ring Cole and O’Reilly stay in control. Titus pokes O’Reilly in the eyes and hits the shinbreaker/back suplex combination for two. King tags in and the ANX is firmly in control. O’Reilly is able to fight back and takes out both members of ANX before making the tag. Cole comes in a house afire. He hits King with a nasty slingshot DDT on the apron! Cole kicks Titus in the head and O’Reilly hits the two butterfly suplexes / double-arm DDT combo O’Reilly goes to the apron and NAILS King with the running missile dropkick. Cole goes up top and hits Titus with a high cross body block for two. He puts Titus on the top rope and King is able to provide enough distraction for Titus to slip out and drop Cole face-to-top-turnbuckle, and then King follows with shotgun knees. Titus rolls Cole up for two. Cole fights back but King catches him in a bridging leg cradle suplex for two. O’Reilly makes the save and the referee loses control. All four men are down. Everyone gets back to their feet and Cole and O’Reilly appear to be in better shape. They hit King with Ride the Lightning but it only gets two! More

~DISC 1~

MATCH #1: Michael Elgin vs. Christopher Daniels, World’s Greatest, 2.25.11

Elgin is accompanied by Truth Martini. He overpowers the TV champion right away, ramming him into the corner and driving his shoulder into the midsection. Daniels survives the initial onslaught and sends Elgin to the floor. The champ hits a baseball slide dropkick and the Arabian Press, much to the crowd’s delight. Daniels throws Elgin into the ring post. Back in the ring Daniels hits a missile dropkick and a running forearm in the corner. Now Daniels is in complete control, unloading with jabs and a Northern Lariat for a one-count. Martini interferes, allowing Elgin to catch Daniels in a Samoan Drop for two. Elgin wears Daniels out now with strikes and slams, focusing on the back. He tosses Daniels to the floor and rams him into the barricade, and then locks on the Boston Crab. Back in the ring, Elgin continues to dominate. After many minutes of abuse Daniels comes back and tries a tornado DDT but Elgin blocks it and tries to lawn dart Daniels into the buckles. Daniels perseveres though and counters the counter, hitting the Stroke right into the turnbuckles. Now Daniels is on fire, unleashing flying forearms and a series of headbutts. He hits a low dropkick and curb stomps him into the canvas. Daniels hits the Arabian Press and gets two. More

Cincinnati Masonic Center (Taft Masonic Center) – Cincinnati, Ohio – February 16, 2013

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary tonight. They run down a bit of the card and hype the main event.

Backstage – Q.T. Marshall cuts standard heel promo 101, in which he mocks the fans for being gross and compares them to his opponent tonight, Jay Briscoe.

MATCH #1: Jay Briscoe vs. Q.T. Marshall

Marshall continues his promo in the ring and the sound is bad so I’m having trouble hearing him. He mocks Pete Rose for being a crook and puts himself over before getting cut off by Jay’s music. Jay is currently one half of the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions. The Code of Honor is followed and here we go. Jay takes Marshall down to the mat. Things quickly get heated and Jay kicks Marshall all the way to the floor. Jay follows him out and catapults him into the ring post. Back in the ring Jay continues going to work. Jay goes up to the second rope and Marshall sweeps his leg out, sending Jay crashing to the mat. Marshall works Jay over for a bit and gets a few two-counts. He takes his eye off the ball and Jay makes him pay for it. Jay unleashes offense on him, including a hangman’s neckbreaker for two. He charges into the corner but Marshall moves and Jay’s shoulder hits the post. Marshall hits a Rocker Dropper for two. He hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and a powerslam for another two-count. More

The Turner Hall Ballroom – Milwaukee, Wisconsin – January 19, 2013

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary, along with some help from Truth Martini.

MATCH #1: World TV Champion Adam Cole vs. Silas Young

This is a non-title match, and is also not a Proving Ground match for some reason. They start with some chain wrestling and both guys are cautious as they feel each other out in the early going. Cole strikes first with a nice dropkick for two. Young is able to knock Cole to the floor and he follows him out. He whips the TV Champion into the barricade. Back in the ring Young gets a two-count. Young continues the assault, focusing on the back. Cole pops out of the corner with a clothesline and follows with a flurry of offense. He hits a neckbreaker, an enziguiri, and a Shining Wizard for a near-fall. Cole hits a Death Valley Neckbreaker for a two-count. Young comes back with a move Kelly describes as “Up, Down!” The vaunted Up, Down only gets two. Cole hits the vertical suplex neckbreaker but only gets two when Young grabs the bottom rope. He goes for another Shining Wizard but Young avoids it and hits the backbreaker/clothesline combo for two. Young hits the Finlay Roll and goes for the Pee Gee Waja Plunge but Cole surprises him with a schoolboy rollup for two. More

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary.

MATCH #1: Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish vs. BJ Whitmer & Rhett Titus

O’Reilly and Whitmer start it off. They go back and forth a bit, trying to set the pace. Is that an Angry Bird on Whitmer’s tights? Titus and Fish tag in and they continue on the same path as their partners. Fish attacks the leg but Titus comes back with a dropkick. O’Reilly comes in and he eats a dropkick too. Fish and O’Reilly try to regroup on the floor but Titus wipes them out with a somersault dive. Back in the ring Titus works Fish over. O’Reilly hits Titus with a knee to the back from the apron. That fives Fish the chance to take control. O’Reilly and Fish are in control now, working Titus over and using double-team moves to their advantage. After several minutes Titus is able to avoid a charge in the corner and then hit a tilt-a-whirl Snake Eyes. More

MATCH #1: Boston Massacre Match – Da Hit Squad vs. The Carnage Crew, Honor Invades Boston, 8.24.02

What did I do wrong in my life to deserve having the Carnage Crew be a part of it? A Boston Massacre Match is basically an Anything Goes Match. DeVito and Mafia fight on the floor wile Monsta Mack and Loc fight in the ring. Mafia gets in the ring and hits Loc with a release German Suplex. Devito goes outside the ring to grab some barbed wire and he uses that to punch Mafia in the head. Mafia is busted open but he still makes a comeback and gives DeVito a taste of his own medicine with the barbed wire. More garbage brawling takes place in and out of the ring, as the camera work reminds me of “The Blair Witch Project.” It’s actually distracting, not that I think I’m missing much. In the ring Mack wraps barbed wire around Loc’s head to bust him open. Everyone is bleeding now. Chairs get involved and the match spills backstage, or behind a curtain, if you want to be literal. Da Hit Squad found two barbed wire boards and the Carnage Crew says bring it on. Nobody goes though them at first, so the brawling continues. DeVito cracks Mafia in the head with a hubcap. Mack misses a Frog Splash. He’s the first one thrown into one of the barb wire planks. More
