ROH, ROH, ROH Your Boat

I’ve been following ROH for over 12 years now. I have two men to thank for that. First is Chris Scoville, better known to ROH fans as Jimmy Jacobs. Chris is a friend of mine and I was made aware of ROH when he started working there in the summer of 2003. I was further inundated into ROH lore when I started hanging out with Brad Garoon, who had been following the promotion since its inception. Brad and I traveled to Wilmington, Ohio, for my first show (his second) in January of 2004, and I’ve pretty much been hooked ever since. I quickly started reviewing the tapes (yes, tapes) for 411Mania thanks to former ROH booker Gabe Sapolsky, and I’ve continued to review shows over at Inside Pulse. Brad and I traveled to numerous shows over the years (though it’s been far too long), and thanks to my friendship with Jacobs I got to hang out with Alex Shelley, Bryan Danielson, Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Tyler Black, Matt Sydal, Delirious, Amazing Kong, Silas Young, Kevin Steen, El Generico, and the late Larry Sweeney. Brad and I also got to participate in the “Man Up!” pay-per-view on September 15, 2007, at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois, as part of the Age of the Fall debut. While ROH has undergone many changes over the years, I continue to watch the product to see some of the best wrestlers in the country do what they do best.
